Patrick Thompson
Defensive Line
Coach Thompson has been on staff since the 2014 season. He has coached high school athletics for 23 years, serving as an assistant basketball coach at NorthWood and Fairfield High School for 13 years before making the switch to the gridiron prior to the 2014 season. He has coached at all three levels of the program, previously serving as the head freshman and JV coach. Over his tenure he has coached linebackers, offensive and defensive line. His current role is working with the varsity defensive line.
Patrick graduated from Mid-America College of Mortuary Science in 1997 and worked full time for his family business from 1998-2010. In the fall of 2008 he returned to school and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from Indiana University South Bend in 2010. He taught High School English for 9 years, serving time at Goshen High School, Fairfield High School, and NorthWood High School from 2010-2019 before returning to his family business after the 2018-19 school year. He is currently the president and owner of Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Homes, operating in both Nappanee and Wakarusa. Coach Thompson is a 1994 NorthWood High School Graduate and received varsity letters in basketball and football. Patrick received the Most Improved Award as a senior member of the 1993 State Runner Up football team. He was an assistant coach on the 2016 and 2023 State Runner Up teams. Patrick currently lives in Nappanee with his wife Jen and their three children, Trot, Lily, and Grace. |
