Nate Andrews
Head Coach
Nate Andrews came back to NorthWood High School in the spring of 2014 to teach and coach at his Alma Mater. Since that time Nate has earned 4A Coach of the Year in 2016 and 2023 for directing the Panthers to state runner up finishes. In 2017 he guided the North to victory as the head coach of the IFCA North all-stars.
Coach Andrews was previously the head football coach at Western High School and Lapel High School and was the associate head coach at Zionsville High School prior to his stints at Western and Lapel. Nate is a 21-year member of Indiana Football Coaches Association where he has held numerous officer positions within 4 different regions including director as well as all-star coach for 3 of them. Nate held successful stints as head wrestling coach for Lapel and NorthWood including assistant track coach at Zionsville and Western. Nate is a 1996 NorthWood High School graduate and earned 11 varsity letters during his career as a Panther. He was a member of the 1993 AAA State Runner up football team and represented NorthWood High School in the 1996 North-South All Star game. Nate was the 1996 171-pound State Wrestling Champion. As a member of the track team Nate placed in the state track meet in 3 different events. While in high school he was a team member of 11 NLC, 7 sectional, and 5 regional championships. He was a state finalist 7 times (football 1, wrestling 3, track 3). Nate received a full athletic scholarship to play football at Ball State University and is a 2001 graduate of the school. From his defensive back position, he played in all 44 of 44 career games at Ball State, was a three-time winner of the team’s most outstanding athlete, was the 2000 Bill Reynolds Special Teams Player of the Year and served as team captain during the 2000 campaign. Nate received his master’s degree in Exercise Prescription from IUPUI in 2007.
