Jon Andrews
Team Chaplin
A lifelong resident of the Wa-Nee system. Jon and his wife, Alison, live in Elkhart, Indiana, where they are raising their three children: Preston, Presley, and Palyn. Jon earned his bachelor's degree in history from McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas where he was a member of the Bulldog football team for three years. He currently serves as a Regional Director for Love Justice International while pursuing his Masters Degree. Jon has served alongside people on five continents and serves on several nonprofit boards. He is an avid reader and enjoys coaching his children. He is currently writing his first book.
Jon has served the football program in many facets since the mid seventies when he would help set up and tear down at old Memorial field. His childhood dreams came true when it was his turn to run out of the tunnel for the 84-86 seasons when the Panthers compiled a record of 31-5. As a senior he was the starting center and long snapper for the 1986 State Runner Up team. Following his on the field career he served as an assistant coach at Nappanee Junior High for two years.
In 1992-1994 Jon served as an assistant coach on Andrews Field Highlighted by being part of the 1993 State finals run with his cousins Trevor and Nate. In 1995 he then moved from the sideline to the press box for two years doing the color commentary alongside Dan Caskey on 102.7.
Jon returned to the Panther gridiron after an almost 20 Hiatus in 2014 to serve as team chaplain, team historian and Coach Wilson’s seatbelt on Friday night - roles he continues to serve in today.
